Skaminia steelhead are showing up now in close and you can troll like you do for coho in the spring to catch them. Offshore your looking at 4-5 miles min, stateline is 7-10 miles offshore depending how much east or west you go.

Steelhead stage in front of the waterway they are running up.  Your best shot at those will be trolling in front of the mouth of Burns Ditch and Trail Creek.  Not aware of anything happening at Gary for steelhead but I could be wrong.

Aside from the staging steelhead- this time of year you’ll want 65-70 ft depth minimum for offshore salmon/trout, so however far away that is from your starting point using the map in the resources section should answer your question.

Yes steelhead in front of the river mouths at portage and michigan city for the next month and a half. The amount of steelhead will vary depending on water temp and rain bulging the rivers or not.
