Nice job! Just to make sure if i was to fish out at that 140 depth launching out of MC, I would need a Michigan license, correct?
I don't want to go out 20 miles from EC so i gotta figure out what to do in the summertime thinking MC might be the ticket

St Joe has quicker access to deep water and an annual launch pass at the Benton Harbor launch is only @ $40, but there is rarely anyone there to collect money. I find it easier, cheaper and quicker to move my boat by truck to the hotspots since it is on a trailer. They also stock the St Joe with salmon & steelhead and the perch limit is 25 in Michigan.
Just my thoughts but I usually migrate to St Joe once the Indiana fishing slows

Awesome info thanks,  that was going to be my second question  - St. Joe being a better alternative than MC as I would need a Michigan license anyway. How's the St Joe launch vs BH. Does BH have a cleaning station?  Do they both get crowded?  Sorry for thread hijack and so many questions,  I do appreciate the info as i never ventured up that way.

St Joseph and Benton Harbor are just different sides of the river. I haven't launched in St Joe. I launch at the state ramp on Riverview across the street from Tackle Haven - a spectacular big lake tackle store with minnows and the best lure selection around. You can even get pre spooled copper and core rigs there. About 6 ramps, lots of parking right there no walking. It does get crowded but not like Portage
No cleaning stations . Less than 6 miles out to 100 feet of water

The launch we launched at in St. Joe had a cleaning station- I believe across the river from the Benton Harbor launch.  Even had a perch de-scaler from what I remember.  Only bad part is that it’s a 25 min ride to the lake through the river.

I usually use SJ city launch when I fish out of SJ. It’s great also. $7 each time. Not sure about the annual cost. Fish cleaning station is great. Nice bathrooms and plenty of parking. Only down side I’ve seen is the smell from the waste water treatment plant which is right next door.
