TOPIC:

Launched out of Portage and headed straight North to the state line. Setup at 70 FOW at 5AM and trolled North. I was marking a lot of bait in the area. First hit came in 75 FOW. It turned out to be 4# Coho on a rigger down 55' with a flasher fly. Next hit came at 78 FOW on the same rigger. I ended up landing a 17# king. I picked up another Coho and 2 Lakers in the next hour, all on the same flasher/fly! I was getting ready to pull lines and put things away, when the wire dipsy setup with a meat rig started going crazy. I got it up to the surface about 50' behind the boat, and the king jumped out of the water and spit the hook. It actually broke part of the head of the DW meat rig. After that, I trolled a little longer with no more action. Ended the day 5/6. It was perfect out besides all the flies!

Fantastic outing.  How deep do you estimate your meat rig was?

I had it out 92', so based on the graph, it should be around 50' or a little less from the current. It was a mag wire dipsy setup on a #2 setting. Surface speed was 2.7 but the fish hawk on my rigger was showing 2.4 at the ball.
