I've coho fished for several years,just never used a dodger and fly setup. 
Just need a little help with the line part of the setup.
Im running 30lb pp to a swivel,does the dodger hook up straight to the main line or do I need some mono to the dodger then then mono to the fly.
If I need mono to the main line what pound and length would be a good start and also length and pound test to the fly.

Almost forgot, all I have are in line planners,will dodgers work with these or do I need some dipseys to get them down 6- 10ft.
I'm sure it's not hard to fish this way,just need to spend some time on the water doing it.

Dodgers can be ran on boards, divers or riggers. If running it with braid on a board you would want to put a 15' section of mono or fluro from the braid to the dodger then use the same to the fly. When tying fly to dodger you typically want 2-3x the size of the dodger as a leader from back of dodger to end of hook. You also do not want to use light line for the leader to fly you want to use some heavier line like 30-50lb test. The heavier line gives the fly the movement of the dodger while lighter line would not translate that movement to the fly.

Is there a chart etc. to set the depth of the dodger/fly,I would think it's different SOG equals different depths,or is it distance from the planner to the bait at a certain SOG.

You’ll need something to get it down underwater or else it will just plane on top.  Some leadcore line, dipsy diver, or some weight where you transition from your braid to mono before the dodger could work to get it underwater.  More weight will run it deeper.  

Add an egg sinker and a bead in front of the dodger. About one ounce ought to be enough. Keep it simple- coho will hit a dodger and fly in your prop wash

Yes sorry you need a keel weight or weighted line to run it on boards or else it will skip

Start with 5/8 to 3/4 keel weights to get the dodger down.  

Makes sense, I have some 1oz and 2oz snap weights that should work for now.
I looked online and it helped,but pretty sure I have good starting point now with everyones help.
