A "fishident" is what I tell my wife I had when I am supposed to be doing one thing and then "accidently" go fishing. Went to the boat after work last night to fix an oil leak and, as any boat owner knows, you have to run the engine after to ensure the fix is good.  Naturally, runnng the engines at low RPM is the proper test point which translates to about 2.1 - 2.4MPH and some additional drag on boat is important so running downriggers, fishing rods, works best.  Needless to say, my wife doesnt really buy into "fishidents"....

Fished solo for about an hour and half and picked up one mature male king a little over 12lbs.  Didnt see much out there, worked the wall from about #4 and further east. This one came in 48' on a rigger 45' down on Moonshine orange and black UV glow. Not sure there are many out there yet but some south winds may help soon.

Headed out tomorrow afternoon. Going to fish morning and evening Saturday and Sunday. Debating of staying out front or going for a run!

Just a guess but the temps still are not low enough, even though obviously some Kings will come in regardless, there will more overall action offshore where you can find 50 - 55 degree water. The King bite in close seems to last about an hour at sunrise and sundown so you could potentially do both.  I suspect it will be pretty busy at the mouth to #4 this weekend as well.

Love it..... its common practice to put the fix through its paces. Thanks for reporting.
