We are on another trip up to king salmon paradise. It did not disappoint so far. We got nine kings and one coho this first day. Had eight by 7am, then took over two hours to get the last two. They shut off like a light switch. Found most of the fish in 60-80fow. Most boats sailed right past them in shallow. One J-plug took 4 kings by itself. Had about half a dozen swing and misses, but think we landed all but one? Got really chaotic for awhile!

While here, we contacted Scott at Mascot Reel Service, about 10mi from Ludington. We have two Okuma Convectors 45 & 55 with funky drags. He has an upgrade to fix them. I gave him a call to see if we could drop off and have shipped back or pick up at a later time. He said he could try to get them done while we were in town. When we got there, he dove right in and in a half hour he had both working like butter. Great deal for $30/each, and we left a well deserved tip, which he did not want to accept. But after going way above and beyond for us, we weren't taking no for an answer. Highly recommend Scott's work!

Finished today with a pair of kings. We will be back in 3 weeks for another go at them.
