first want to say thanks for recommending the chamberlain downrigger releases dirty, we ordered them and have been running them the last few weeks. since we've had them only had two downrigger hits where the rod didn't load up right after releasing with a fish on the other end. it was about the exact opposite with are old releases. anyone who is not running them or something similar your doing it wrong! haha. We ordered the chamberlain stacker releases this week so my question is for anyone with advice on stacking rigger lines. Mainly wondering how much separation we should have in the leads for the bottom and top lines to avoid tangles or if any??. and any other good info if anybody has any, thanks in advance

I run stackers every now and then but less lately.......actually not at all this year. It costs you two extra rods, where you can toss on free sliders for free. But they do have their time and place if you need to keep alot of lines deep.

I always ran them about 10 feet apart depth wise and make sure the stacked rod is not that far back. The farther back it is, the more you have a chance at a tangle from a hit directly beneath it (main rigger line).

Maybe I'm way off...but don't think I've ever run riggers further than 50'. Most of the time between 30-50' at most.

I know the feeling. The fishing is on fire and I can't get out until next weekend.
