I got some J plugs for free from a guy, but don’t know how to fish them.
Flat line?
Behind a dodger?
Off a Dipsey?
Troll at the usual 2 mph?
how deep do they run?
I literally know nothing.
thanks in advance
Eric

You can run them any way you please, off long lines (copper or lead) behind boards, on riggers, on dipsies.  A jplug will probably run 5-10' down.  2.5 to 3 mph would be better.  2mph is a little slow and probably would not get the desired action.

we always run them on riggers around 2.8 mph ...dont use them as much as back in the day, but they still work.
