Just to expand a little, this is adjusted for fishing effort, so it is not raw catch. There is a boatload of effort in northern Michigan and northern Wisconsin, so a ton of our steelhead are caught there, off say Manistee/Ludington, and across the lake from there in Wisconsin
Matt Kornis, who made the map, did say that the large circle in green/sturgeon bay area is just an anomaly from a low sample size, since there is not much trout and salmon fishing effort there and it is based on just a few instances - just before anybody is thinking tons of our steelhead are caught in Green Bay
So on a per-effort basis, we're catching the best from our steelhead. Makes sense given the summer skamania fishery. But we're also catching quite a few steelhead stocked by Wisconsin and Michigan
