They look nice but for me, I think they'd be too slick. I fished one afternoon in about 30 degee weather. Of course it didn't warm up over night and I didn't even think of the cold when I was launching the next morning. I unhooked the winch strap when I took off the tie-down straps. Luckily, I don't unhook the safety chain!

I like the carpet covered bunks (at least in above freezing weather. I fear the plastic would be nearly as slippery as ice. That said, I do launch my boat solo about 90% of the time. The plastic bunks would be nice when loading since I'm they guy cranking the boat the last few inches to the bow roller 100% of the time.

I know this is an older thread but I wanted to add my two cents for the comparison. During periods of low water, I observed that my bunk trailer had to roll back significantly farther to float off or power on to the bunks within reach of the pre-deployed winch strap.  The roller trailer guys did not need to sink there trailer nearly as deep to launch or retrieve.  I was launching solo in a river at an unimproved launch with a 16' deep v.
