Fished the pro/am today for the first time with Tmik34 (Tim) and Horsefly24 (Phil) and it was a really great event. It was delayed 2 hours due to waves which gave us time to walk the piers and explore. Ive never been to MI City. Unfortunately we did rather poorly......piss poor really with a laker and two coho. It was our first time targeting lakers. We just never got deep enough - lesson learned. We found an area in 65-70' holding alot of fish from mid depth to the bottom and we decided to beat it to death without getting a sniff. Threw everything at em, from every direction and every speed.

We then made our way out to 85' feet and did not mark much. We were contemplating going back to were we marked all those fish in dirty water or go deeper. We turned back and immediately had a double with the small laker and coho - then nada. We obviously made the wrong choice.

All in all it was a great event and had alot of fun. It was great talking to a number of people and learning a bit from our failure and their success.
