I understand your love hate relationship with Maxi. Last year on June 30th I returned and could not find a fish on the main lake, ended up in the channels and caught 1 small perch and 3 gills. Yes parking does suck. Why are the piers so far from the launching ramp??? All things considered if you hit it right it's a good place to fish. Not every day there is good, but when it's good it's great.....

I fish maxi more than any other lake. I live 15 mins from it. This time of year blue and silver xrap #8 and silver buddies for walleye although not the numbers there once was. Same lures and tubes and yamis for smallies theres a ton of them. East side of the lake, and west side of long point.

Fished Maxi yesterday, first time there for me. Nice lake, parking and launch not so much. Found a few small walleye and bass released all fish caught. Nothing on the blue and silver xrap but a couple on a blue flicker shad.

Saw your boat yesterday parked in front of your house on my way home from work. Was wondering where or if you were launching.

Not Yesterday, was hoping the wife would want to go for a boat ride so I left it out front from Saturday's trip to Maxi. Dropped it off last night, back in the barn for a couple days. I was happy my trolling motor battery issues seem to be fixed after rewiring the system.

Were you trolling or casting? Trying to figure out how to best approach it next time I give it a whirl. I am mostly speaking of the eyes.

Tried both, most action was on Jigging and Casting. Didn't see a lot of action going on in other boats around us in the different sections of the lake as we expored. Lake was very clear and not much weed or structure that I could find. Did most of our fishing on the edge of breaks and where I thought would be transition points. Fished for about 5 hrs total.
