Hey guys was wondering how the Fishing was on this lake? Primarily like to target crappies n gills but if there’s anything else worth Fishing for I’m all ears I’ll be working near there for the weekend and am gonna have the afternoons off will trailer boat down depending on if it’s worth taking

I have never fished it but I know that it has excellent striped bass fishing

Great lake with everything you can think of in there.
Not heard anything this year yet.
Theres also a Park in Rockville (north of town) that has some of the best gills you can find.
Electric motor only, Bass Tourneys on it too.
Campground and lake.
Haven't been there in quite a few years but used to be great by land or boat.

I live about 15 minutes from Raccoon and five minutes from Rockville Lake. Raccoon crappies are pretty decent right now. They aren't big but will eat well. The striped bass fishing has gone way downhill. They are very difficult to catch and seem to be few and far between the last couple of years. I have asked the ranger station if they are still being stocked and they say they are. However, the state stockings numbers don't show that they are. It's a shame because it was fantastic there for a few years. The state record was caught there by Comp Time from this site. You still hear of a couple being caught every now and then. There are white bass there that are a lot of fun as well as catfish.
Rockville Lake is a smaller private lake that is electric only. I forget what the launch fee is. It is a nice clean, quiet place to go. I haven't been there for a couple of years. Crappie and bluegill were very good.

So in Rockville can I still launch with a gas motor n not use it or is strictly trolling motor

Thanks for the info fellas ended up fishing Rockville lake for a couple hours in the afternoon kept some gills water temps were 76!!! Degrees nice little lake will most definitely go back down one of these weekends would like to try raccoon thanks again guys
