Never creek fished before and since I'm selling the boat, figure I'd give it a shot. I know the basic setup, just curious on the tackle used in very shallow water in Indiana or any tips? Thanks!

My go to creek setup for many many years was a 9' medium to medium/light rod and 8lb trilene xl mono. This served me well on our Indiana "ditches" for steelhead and coho. A big king on was an adventure.
I didn't want to overthink things.

Really depends on the "creek". The closer to the lake a longer rod is nice, but if you're going to get further inland and have to maneuver through brush and around logs a shorter rod with heavier line will serve you better. The further up the river the spawning fish go, the less they're interested in food so you want to go with something that will annoy them to hit it. Near the end of the run, we drift a yarn hook into the mouths of the resting fish. Only way to hook up at that point.

I used to creek fish in the past more often than I do now. I just used my bass rods (spinning) and mepps 2's and 3's. That was it.
Boatless!
