Looking for some help, I would like to find a couple inland lakes in the area that we can fish for Crappie, Perch and possibly Walleye. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I think I would like the same info haha. There is not a whole lot of good fish worthy water in the area. I have fished the kankakee river a ton for bass and pike, was successful for crappie and walleye here and there.

I hear there is decent perch population in pine lake but no real experience with it. Same can be said for wolf lake walleye.

I would like to spend some time expanding east and south this year to see what good water I can find. I always tend to go up into Michigan or Wisconsin for walleye, perch, and crappie.

Cedar Lake used to be great for crappie back in the day - dont think it is anymore. On rare occasion I will go wiper fishing out there and have some nice success. Havent seen a crappie in quite a while.

I have also heard "up the ditch" can have some good crappie action. I have tried going up both salt and deep river forks with no real success - but havent necessarily tried real hard either. End up catching bass and pike.
Boatless!

I have a 16ft Lowe that I use for inland lakes. I fish Bass lake in Knox for walleye and crappie. The lake is very shallow in most areas so be careful if you go there. Find lily pads this time of the year and you can get on some crappie. I troll for walleye, but they can be difficult to catch. It is one of the lakes in Indiana that they stock with walleye. I would like to try wolf lake but it just has not worked out yet. Pine lake has nice crappie and bluegill, but haven't been there in a long time. Hope this helps some.

When we had a trail-able boat we spent a lot of time on Lasalle Lake and Heidecke Lake in Ilinois. Depends how long you want to drive but a lot of people fish Heidecke for striped bass and walleye. Lasalle is known for a world class Blue Catfish fishery. Could use your salmon tackle there those fish are huge!
