You are lucky to have those gunnels,much stronger setup as it is a one piece extrusion. Traxstech makes the alumatrac brackets now with sections of track attached so you can use a more conventional setup and no need for a board across the back of your boat. No need to fab anything, I seen the set up at the Indy boat and hunting expo. Much better than the plastic stuff Alumacraft sells for their system.

One last thought I have for you is I noticed you don't have swivel bases. They are worth the money to have. I have seen them on ebay new and used. Calumet Marine (hondacat) may even have some stuff that you can get second hand if new is not an option. He sets up a lot of boats. He deals heavily in Traxstech also.

Don, thank you so much for this post! I have been looking for a while for a setup like this Traxtech you just mentioned! This is the reason I don't have vertical swivel rod holders because it was weird to mount them. I will get in touch with Honda Cat as well. Those are my perch Rod holders I've been using them for trolling because I like the pivot in them for hook setting but not as versatile as the swivels like we have on our Boston Whaler. In reality this was suppose to be a Walleye boat for me and my pops and use the whaler for the big lake but he bought a house in Georgia and now the whaler stays south so I'm trying to set it up for the big lake. Thanks again for the advice!

Traxstech also makes an adapter plate that you can mount your plastic rod holders to that allows you to use then inside the track system just like a regular track system rod holder. Pretty neat set up also. You could mount cup holders, external lights and whatever else you might dream of mounting to the boat gunnel.

just something simple like a smoker mount so I can get the fish in there nice and fresh, oh and something to keep my beer cold when I'm panfishing

I have two big Jon tournament pro electric downriggers for sale if you are interested. They have 4ft arms swivel bases ball buddies one rod holder auto stops. All spooled up a ready to go. If you are willing to part out the swivel bases - how much would you want for the two (swivel bases)?
