Got out fishing on a charter this week out of Grand Bend, Ontario with my dad and uncle being a first time fisherman. Weather forecast could not have been better. The captain/first mate were a father/son team and were a great time! Wasn't really sure what to expect after reading about the salmon crash of the mid 2000's. Fished in the 70-130 FOW range, interesting that the depth change by them occurs at 10' per every mile from shore. First line to go was a 14 color lead line with a nice 6-7 pound walleye attached. Second line was a rigger down 70' with a real nice steelhead (they call them rainbows?). Picked up a smattering of fish throughout the 6 hour trip including a healthy 7ish or so pound King. Ended up 8 for 11 with 3 kings, 3 rainbows, 1 walleye and 1 lake trout. All in all, had a great trip aboard Wavemaster Charters and if I ever find myself back up this way and don't have the boat in tow, I will definitely call them again.

Very Nice. It is always fun fishing new waters and meeting a good Captain and Mate can really enhance the experience. Maybe there is hope out there yet.
