Just returned from Port Orange/Volusia cointy, FL. Fishing sucked. Beach temps were 16 degrees below the normal average low for this time of year. Repeated cold fronts kept crappie fishing hit or miss on the St. John's river.
Shrimping, OTOH is where we hit our stride out of Oak Hill/Edgewater. For neophytes we did quite well with our best night dipping 137. The locals were pulling 5 gallon buckets which is about a 900 count.
Just before we left the beach lit up with Bluefish and Pompano. I caught several Blues.
