I am leaving for Orlando tomorrow. I will be there for a week with the family. I plan on taking my boys out with a guide for a day bass fishing. There are also a ton of lakes around the subdivision I would like to fish. Any suggestions on lures, bait and presentation?

When I get back from Fl. I will be leaving for David Panama for a week of deep sea fishing at Come Fish Panama. I will post results and pics when I get back.

I have had the best luck with plastics fishing the Kissimmee Chain and Kissimmee river. Rig the below weightless.

When I fish Georgia for bass I've always done good with a braided stiff rod set up and top water ( Frogs, plugs, jitter bugs)

Then a mono finesse set up for The zoom dirty said in above response works awesome as well even wacky worm it other colors that work well are a shad, white, or black. My new favorite bass presentation the past two seasons that I have done super awesome on are the 4/0 J hooks with the screw on top and put a Culprit Grape/White worm on it with no weights and slowly finesse it back just top 3 feet of water.

To me Culprit has the best tail action around and my strikes have inscreased x10 since switching to them. Also, KVD sexy shad square bills, and jerk baits have their place too.... Ugh I love bass fishing

I got home today, and I am exhausted!
We didn't get to fish much in Florida between all the tourist things, but we got a little in.
We caught a few bass and crappie on a local pond. On Thursday we rented a pontoon and fished the Banana river in Cocoa Beach. We managed to catch a few cats and trout. We did mange to be there for a rocket launch out of Cape Canaveral which was awesome!
I left for Panama on Sat 4/1 after a horrible drive back from Orlando. We arrived at our camp In Panama around 3:00 Pm on Sunday. We fished the island lagoon and caught some small fish.
On Monday we had a 50 mile boat ride to Hannibal Bank. On the way there we chased some schooling tuna and caught one and lost another. When we arrived at the bank we landed another tuna while drift fishing cut bait and several bonitos.
I brought two rigs with me, a 6 1/2 Ugly Stick with a Penn Battle 5000 spooled with 30lb braid and a 20lb flouro leader and a 6 1/2 Penn jigging rod with a Shimano Thunnus bait runner. I caught a ton of fish off of theses rods, and it was awesome!
We spent the next four days drifting Hannibal Bank, trolling deep for wahoo and dorado and casting/jigging the reefs and islands.
We caught several tuna, a ton of bonitos, a shark, an eel, barracuda, rooster fish, jacks, pompanos and several other fish. I lost a 400lb plus black marlin ten feet from the boat. One of our boats landed a 400lb black marlin at the reef. When it hit the bait there were around 10 spear fisherman in the water. The line almost took their heads off a few times during it's runs and jumps.
The trip was a blast, the service and accommodations were great, and I'm sunburned and tired!

BTW, 45lbs of vacuum packed tuna in a grey, soft sided cooler must look suspicious to authorities in a Panama airport.

Big time trip! Just like in the fishing shows. I would love to do that some time as well.
