Took a one day trip to my home waters for a some white fish. One of my twins fished with me. He flew home for the holiday and my 60th birthday. The weather was hot and humid like normal this time of year in Kentucky. Holiday boaters were everywhere and a big bother to the fishing. We put up with it for a while and caught some fish. Not many but we had quality fish. Saugers, whites, large mouths, and cats were caught in the main river channel. Fish all came on a Model 6A bomber in the Chartreuse Shad pattern. I took a couple of cleaning board shots.

Here is my go to lures now until October. I like to run them on the river channels following the navigation buoys. Stay in 12 to 15 feet of water at 2.5 to 3 mph gps. The top lure is the chartreuse shad. The next one is the Tennessee shad. Don't leave home with out several of these 2 colors.

So you troll them? Do you run them on the deep side of the channel from the 12 to 15 feet or are you running them in the 12 to 15 FOW?

I try to stay at that depth along the river channel. There are flats along river channels that are shallower that hold stumps and trashy cover. I try to stay away to keep hang ups at a minimum. Trolling is the best way to find fish then you can cast to them if you want. Little Georges casted to the drop offs work well also. But by far trolling puts the most fish in the boat.
