Had a great four day weekend to finish up my 2020 fishing season. We fished out of Huron Ohio and everything was perfect. The weather and the fishing were all on our side. Now it is time to go find mister whitetail. Everyone have a great hunting season and stay safe.

Were you there for Lance Valentine's school? If I'd known there were any other Southenders there, I'd have looked you up. I left my camera in my traveling companions truck and I've not been able to move the phone photos from my phone to the computer to be able to post them. I'll give it another try. But you are right, there are a lot of walleyes in Erie. There was no where we went, from the mouth of the river to waynell offshore there were no fish marks on the screen. They say 100 million. I'd have to do the math to see what that means, lake wide, but it was a rare screen which showed less than a dozen (often 40 or 50) fish. Even if some of the marks are carp, gaspergoos, white bass, catfish or other fish, there are still a butt load of fish in that lake!

Okay, I did the math. there are 16 walleye per acre in Lake Erie - if they were all evenly distributed - and all of them are floating on the surface. I tried to narrow it down further, but my brain started to swell up.

We have been fishing Erie for years and have never seen the walleye fishing this good. Anyone thinking of fishing for walleye on Erie the next few years will be hard to beat. And you can’t beat them on the dinner plate.
