Finally our schedules were aligned for us to make a first time trip out to Lake Erie for some Walleyes. We arrived at the launch in Huron about 7:30 on Saturday. We headed NE out of the harbor until we started marking fish in 40 FOW. The lake forecast called for 2 foot or less waves, but we were in 3 footers. We decided to troll back SW with the waves. We ran 6 mono setups all with different colored deep bandits. Most of the fish we caught were in 32 FOW on a purple/ chartreuse and bronze/ chrome bandits. We ended day 1 with a 4-man limit with the biggest being 9 pounds. We woke up the next day and hit the lake about the same time. The lake was much calmer, but it started snowing. We picked up 10 more fish and called it quits to head home. This was an incredible fishing trip and I highly recommend trying it out if you get a chance. It’s an easy drive on the toll road. We will definitely be back!

Nice job with the walleye. I love fishing out of Huron. This is our personal best northeast out of  Huron at night 10-12ft of water 33 inches long. Didn't have a scale.. What did you think of their ramps there? Wish we had something like that.

Their ramps are so nice and well organized! There wasn’t a lot of boats fishing those days, but everything flowed. There was no delay. There’s a nice wide prep area that is plenty wide so whenever you are ready to launch you can get out and head to the ramp. The ramps have plenty of room and the docks are nice and sturdy and then the parking is right there.
