Fortunate enough to fish in Costa Rica again this year!  La Nina making a difference this year slowing the Mahi run but sails, marlin, and yellowfin are all around strong. Only fished yellowfin one day wanting to target sails and marlin especially for my son who lost a couple of marlin last year and needed to "redeem" himself.  Ended up 4 days of fishing with 4-4 on yellowfin, 19-29 on sails, and 2 - 10 on marlin. Could have done a much better job on marlin but need more practice.....Here are a few highlights.

Yeah hey!  At my age I'd much rather catch sails than marlin....and no tunas over 40 pounds.  Good going.

I've fished Quepos and Cost Rica is beautiful, I can still hear the howler monkeys.  For those who have never fished offshore in the Pacific, you can't describe the power of saltwater fish, you have to experience it.  The Baja Peninsula has some really good fishing and it's fairly affordable. If you're lucky and want to catch Blue Marlin or big Yellowfin, better bring some stamina. It gets personal.
