Last week I got a 9 pointer and posted the story. We went back to Fountain County on Friday to hunt for the weekend. My 19 year old son got his first deer ever.

I put him in the same spot which I got my deer the week before. Shortly after daylight, I heard him shoot a single shot. I immediately received a text that simply said, "Dropped him!"

Nice 5 pointer. We butchered both bucks for ground meat and have made lots of jerky. Here's a pic of his deer in an attached file

Nice work guys. The first one he will remember forever. I was there when my oldest son Dan took his first. I was on one side of a corn field and he was facing me from the other. A nice doe walked out into the field and I can see
Dan looking the other way. I yelled shoot and he spun around shouldering his rifle and made an awesome 175 yd shot that flipped the doe backwards after the .243 struck home. I got to see it all.

I hope you were as excited as I was when it happened. He still hunts when he can with me even though he is grown now and has his own life. Wouldn't be great if your son keeps on hunting deer with you?

Congrats , he's hooked for life.
