Found a handful during a quick walk thru the woods. Little guys are harder to spot vs the big blondies. Ended up with 5 altogether before I had to get home but I'm sure the morning will have more a popping.

Nice job, I found some this year and have never had them here before.
Looking forward to trying them out.

I scoured several woods several times this weekend along with the same area I found the others and came up with no more morels but I did see a fresh dryads saddle.

I've never tried these but I really like the melon smell they produce. Anybody ever try them and could weigh in on the flavor? Do they taste like they smell??

Dark clothing no white socks or shirt. Spray your pant legs with outdoor off or other type of spray. Do a good check on yourself when home. Ticks are drawn to light colored clothing.

I take a change of clothing with me and change before I get back in my truck for the way home. I put everything into a plastic garbadge bag and throw it all into the washer as soon as I get home.

No avoiding ticks. If you ain't getting ticks you're not looking hard enough! Lickety has great advice but most important is check yourself often while walking especially in heavy cover and in the presence of animal trails.

As one of the best defenses against ticks I've found spraying a set of clothing with permethrin works good. I keep one full set of clothes for walking in the woods. Spray everything-socks and your choice of undergarments included.

The repellent is only to be used on clothing and not on your skin. It will last up to 6 wash cycles.

I've came out tick free while others were loaded.
Greg ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ :woohoo:
