TOPIC:

I took my boys and dogs pheasant hunting today at the club. The birds and dogs cooperated pretty well.
My 1 YO lab did great with finding, flushing and retrieving the birds. I also have a 5 YO Flat Coat Retriever that was given to me 18 months ago. He was a trained show and agility dog who had no interest in hunting, but he is learning from the pup. He actually found and flushed a well hidden bird today, and he is a great companion in the field.
My 12 YO son Liam shot his first bird, and my 16 YO Michael is a pretty good shot.

Looks like a great time. Pheasants are a hoot to shoot. Great eating wild game also. I like to crockpot the birds and then pull the meat and bake it in a stuffing like you have at Thanksgiving along with some green beans and bacon and mashed taters and onion gravy. Fantastic winter time meal. I raised my 3 sons hunting pheasants.

Looks like a great day out with memories that last forever.

Grew up on pheasant and rabbit hunts.
The good old days are gone.
