TOPIC:

Roxie and crew went to Glendale FWA for some pheasant hunting. It was her first time chasing ringnecks. It was a very tough area to hunt as the FWA let the place grow wild. Very tall weeds and cover and THICK. It was a good thing she had her beeper on. She needed a dog hiviz vest also. But the hunt was good and she did very well for a year and half old pup. Made excellent points and birds retrieved to hand. Others that were there hunting were telling me she would struggle finding birds and holding them on point. Not the case at all. She even circled a couple of runners and got us the shots. Only bumped one bird also. All in all a very good first hunt of the season. A couple of pics one is one of my twin boys, Don Jr, a Texan now and his birds.

Nice job Don , can’t beat time spent with the kids or grandkids, It dosen’t matter what age they are. We got picked for a state property hunt last Saturday near Buffalo, In. I had to put my last Lab down in 2012 , so it made for a tougher hunt. But a GREAT time was had by all ! My youngest son,grandson (his nephew) and myself.

Cool Rudey. even got a rabbit. We didn't see any rabbits. Great results without a dog. I am impressed.

Thanks Don, my son tracked our distance and we walked 5 miles! He doesn’t know us old retired guys aren’t use to that. It is a 112 acre unit and was well managed. Small bean and corn plots with mowed lanes about 50 yards apart. Rudey
