I was looking through a photo album I have that is devoted to outdoor experiences. I came across one of my favorite pix. The picture is of a much younger yours truly and whom I am going to call him a mystery man. Can anyone name this famous mystery man? If you can you are probably a little long in the tooth like me.LOL

Glad to meet you DBF, I believe you are correct. Meeting up with him was way cool. He even hit on my soon to be wife. Some years later I was told by an editor of a hunting publication that knew him very well, that he was quite the ladies man.

It would have been an honor to meet him.
Have to settle for listening (quite often) to Ted Nugent's Fred Bear song before and during hunting season.

I have got to do a lot neat things during my outdoor life, but can you imagine the adventures that guy got to experience? Those seminars I attended were just fascinating. Come to find out that despite his celebrity he was just like most any other outdoorsman I know. He liked to share some of what he knew.

You should check out the pizza place called the "Bears Den" in Grayling Michigan, the whole place is dedicated items and photos from Fred Bears life. the placemats on the tables have his like story and accomplishments on them from the start of his life to the end. Also the food is good too.

Very cool picture Don!

That is one guy I loved to watch on the television. He is the authenic king of hunting. His shows were terrific. I loved the show when he took that huge Grizzly with his bow. And to think you were rubbing elbows with him. Very Cool!!!
