Looking for a awesome crappie and bluegill plastic? Look at your local Walmart store for some of the best I have ever used. They sell some made by Arkie that is called Sexeee Shad Tail. There’s several colors available but my favorite is one called Ol Faithful. It is a pan fish killer. I use them on 16th and 32nd oz painted lead heads. Tie them on 6 pound mono using a loop knot. Cast out and roll them back in, usually no jigging is needed. I usually don’t let them sink much as crappie will feed up. The bluegills will hit them on the same type of cast.
Fishing for panfish in the spring with an ultralight rig is about as much fun a guy can have standing up. The other perk is the costs are about as cheap as it gets. Here are some pics of a trip today.

Love panfish tons of fun!  Hit S. Indiana strip pits last weekend.  Didn’t use that bait but no doubt I would have worked great.  Caught a lot of Bluegill!

Yes you did. That is a great cooler shot. That was a lot of filleting I’ll bet. How far south did you get? The state run Sugar Ridge F and W areas in Pike and Warrick counties have many pits that hold good panfish. Warrick and Vanderburgh counties have the Bluegrass F and W area pits that have trophy bass and musky pits. The bluegill are so so but can have good crappie. Most have ramps and only no wake rules.
