Got out to gary this morning with my dad from 7 to 1030 with 2 fish and 2 misses. Both fish, a brown and a steelie, came on a carmel dolphin michigan stinger spoon down 20' on the rigger in 40' fow. A red dodger and green/blue/copper fly combo 15' down got hit as well as a hotntot in the propwash.

I got out as well. We started in the ditch and caught one small coho and lost another fish that was a lot bigger. I didnt get a look at it. Both hits were on a light blue crankbait. We tried around the mouth, but got blanked. We tried along the east rock wall out around #4, but also nothing there. There were a handful of boats fishing for lakers today over there. Looked like they were jigging for them. It was fun watching them crank'em in. We then ran down to the gary light house. We caught one keeper Coho and lost another in 35 FoW. Both hits were on flicker shads.

I don't have GPS as of yet so I'd say as fast as I could go without spinning out the dodgers..... 2.0mph?

I am going to share some info that works for me that may help you guys catch more fish. I don't typically troll until the main lake hits 40 degrees. But don't get me wrong you can troll. But I would recommend running about 2.6 to 3.0 on the gps or at the ball but lose the dodgers and flies completely until the water his 40 or so. Run lots of thin fins and orange j9s. If the fish are there you will catch them. I can tell you guys this I did not do well with dodgers and flies last spring. We had about 7 15+ fish trips last spring. Hope this helps for your next trip. Exparament everyone has there own ways and a lot of times they all work.

Dodgers won't roll at 2.0. Slow down a touch more.

When you troll thin fins and J-9s, do you pull them with a in-line weight or anything like that? Or do you just flat line them out there? Thanks.
