Did anyone else see that 41LB king caught this A.m. and weighed on a state certified scale. My god!

What percentage of fish like that are do you think are actually landed? I mean that's a 1 in a million fish in Lake Michigan and I'd guess your odds of landing it are probably less than 50/50 under normal conditions. When I guided in AK, we were running mostly 30lb maxima and 1 rod per person on the boat, and wed regularly boat 30's no problem but that was clearing the other lines quickly and using the motor to help control angles on the fish. Here we ha 3 rods to clear per guy and all the extra gear in the way, and at least for me usually much lighter gear. I'm sure it was a battle nobody in that boat is going to forget soon.

I wonder how many alewife that king needed to eat each day to grow that big? Probably did the lake a favor by taking him out. Still what a rush to bring one in like that, it would like bow killing a typical 14 point buck in a Walmart parking lot.
