First time fishing the south end in a many years.  Launched out of Hammond Sunday at first light.  30 bucks to launch was a little unexpexted.  Fished along the wall.  Managed 9 of 15 or 16 bites.  with a couple throwbacks.  Took us a while to dial them in but 3 color with coho fly in green w/black.  called NBK from Hot Pursuit was the best fly.  Thinn Finn orange and chrome/chartruesse was best flat lined 50 back.  moved riggers up to 10 feet 50 back and they started firing with coho flies.  Fun first trip even though we struck out of finding a perch spot.  Thanks to the guy at the ramp who gave us some numbers / pointed out the obvious spot on Navionics...Overall very easy port to travel fish.  Much different than bottoming out to leave Bender up in Milwaukee.

Tight lines till next time

At EC in past years the first 30 IN. registered boats have been able to launch for free. This year they seem to be charging 5 dollars to park across the street in the lot. I talked with a staff worker this week and asked about the parking fee. The main problem is as always boater continue to park their trailers inside after being told where to park and the staff is moving slip boats around to either begin service to them or prepare to put them in the water. This makes their job either difficult or impossible to do with the fork truck or sling lift. They said they are working on signs to inform the fees. Out of state boaters are charged by the size of the boat, I believe no free launch has been in place for them that I have heard of.

Sorry should have specified we came from Wisconsin.  Indiana residents free I believe.  We had her going until she asked for licenses. LOL. I'm attempting to follow the migration this year for the first time ever.  Hopefully mother nature lets that happen.  I will throw up reports along the way.
