Looking to get some local insight on the X4 vs X4D units. I realize the main difference is depth reading at the ball with the X4D as well as the Bluetooth capability. I don’t know from experience but have read of potential lag time with the X4D, not sure how much milliseconds matter at that point. Wondering if any of you can share experience as to why you prefer one over the other. Deciding which to get and what the pros and cons are of either one. Thanks for your responses.

Everyone I talked too said go with the X4.. So that's what I did. I just ordered mine 2 days ago so we will see when it gets here. Anglers Avenue has the best deal I could find.

I’ve been using the x4 for a few years. I saw no reason to get the D unless you have a really large boat where you would not be able to easily see the display and it would be beneficial to have it on a Bluetooth device. Even then I don’t see that much value other than it being a cool novelty. Regardless of which model it helps put fish in the box

Thank you guys for the responses. Not at all concerned about the Bluetooth capability. More curious if the depth feature is really worth the money. Leaning heavy towards the X4.

yea the way I figure it is if you have a good graph that picks up your ball, or if your sure your counter on your riggers are calibrated properly I wouldn't pay the extra coin for the depth.

depth on the graph or counter is not accurate due to blow back. On the graph since the ball is near the outside of the cone, its measuring the same as the counter. Same reason why fish show up as arches on the graph as the front a back of the arch is the fish entering and exiting the sonar cone.

When I had the stratos I had the X4D and loved it. I want it back! I no longer had to guess with blow back, could know the exact depth I was and closely approximate the other rigger. In the next year or so I will pick up another D, but hard to justify when have a working fish hawk that came with the boat.
Boatless!
