Spindoctors, for those who use them, have a set of holes on the tail end of the devise to attach the leader and lure. One hole will increase the spin rate the other keeps it at a slower spin rate. Which of the holes do you guys use most often?

I always use them as packaged which I believe is the "less action" hole near closest to the fins. I would have to look to be sure lol.

By the fin gives less action to the fly away from the fin gives more action. I use less action most of the time.

Mine are set to the less action hole. Is there a reason to use faster spin? I bought some Dreamweaver meat rigs, the ones where you use a strip of bait or a whole bait fish toothpicked into a bait holder head and 3 teaser flies. The rig is 36 inches in length and I wonder if you could benefit its action by increasing the spindoctor/flasher spin rate?

I think the fast action hole is ultimately intended for an ultra slow troll speed. With that being said, the longer the leader to your rig, the slower the action as well. Using the fast action hole might have some benefit with a 36 inch leader - not sure. Worth a try. Compare the two off the side of the boat and see what you see. I may try the same tomorrow if I get out.

When fishing meat rigs- If I am using a meat rig with the added attractors I use a bigger flasher like a 13in. John King.

If I fish a meat rig behind a spindoctor I shorten the leader length by about a foot, use no added attractors, and run a "clean"meat head.
