Do any of you know what these things are and how they were used. They look like some sort of skinny cut plug. I am hoping there are guys who have been around the lake a few thousand times that have actually used them. ]

Sorry to say I don't think I've ever seen that lure before. Some close but not that 1. If they are old they look in good shape. I guess you need to tie 1 on and give it a go.

The lures were a bonus item in an Ebay lot I had bid on and won. They were an unexpected surprise. There was also two trolling flies from a company called "Kent's". They look like a nylon "baby doll hair" material with a strip of 1/4" wide holographic ribbon tied onto the skirt. They came rigged with a mono leader and 2 octopus style hooks. One of the packages has a Lansing, Michigan address. I should have posted a pic of those things also. The packages really look vintage.

Good luck with them. It looks like they are supposed to spin, kind of like a Brad's Cut Plug or the bait head on a meat rig. I picked up some spoons at ICAST 2017 and some plastic plugs at last July's ICAST which have the same action - they spin rather than flutter or wobble.
So far, for me, I've been totally unimpressed with them. I'm equally unimpressed with Brads, with various types of fish meat and scent stuck inside them.
Sure, if I had them I'd give 'em a try, but I wouldn't put any money on them.

I have been around salmon fishing since the early 70's and do not recall ever seeing those baits. Possibly could be something from the west coast in the earlier days by the looks of the packaging. Mooching(jigging) is very popular out west, they do not look heavy enough to be jigging spoons.

Kents flies I do remember using in the late 70's early 80's timeframe and think I still have a few in the old school bait box. They came out and were used when you really didn't have much of a selection to pull behind a dodger other than 3 or 4 colors of squids and a handful of hand tied hair flies (before tinsel flies). once the tinsel flies came out the hand tied hair flies quickly disappeared. Spoiler alert, they still work as most of the gear in my old school gear box does and have proven to doubter's many times over the years.

The lures are made of plastic and are very light. I think Mike is right in that the lures will spin when pulled along. With the short leaders that are factory attached I think they might be pulled behind a dodger or a flasher. Yes they also the same basic shape as a Brad's Super Bait which is one of my trolling favs.
