I bought a new net and hooks tangling with the mesh is terrible. There are some you tube videos about spraying a net with plastic dip and a couple brands of rubber spray to prevent hook tangles.  Has anyone done this and any recommendations? Does anyone recommend a company or brand to replace the neting.

Thanks
Bruce

Bought an RS king net to compliment my Beckman net I use for walleye, after one season, the RS net got crunchy. I contacted the company & they sent me out a new hoop/net. I like the RS but, if you need to replace the bag it has to go back to the factory. The Beckman I own is old, I've redipped the net a couple times, never an issue or problem with it. I picked up another Beckman this spring, it has a rubber net bag, great for coho & Erie eyes. My vote is for Beckman.

About 95% of the fish I net on my boat are scooped out of the water with a rubber net. I don't care what the string is made from or what it's been dipped in, it's not as tangle free as a rubber meshed basket.

Neither of the rubber nets I use started out as "rubber."  I replaced them with a rubber net from Frabill (www.frabill.com). Get the model # 3070 - their largest size advertised to be 23 X 26 - neither of the hoops I use are that size but the bag is stretchy rubber, it will fit.  I've netted plenty of 20+ pound fish in them.
