Thursday I used my recently purchased 9” Danco knife. Got it off Amazon after seeing some YouTube vids of fishermen using them. At 25 bucks they are 1/2 the price of a Bubba they are an excellent alternative. Very sharp out of the box and held its keen edge filleting and skinning the 7 or 8 fish I handled. Highly recommend this one if you are looking for a large blade knife.
The coho fishing was very good for us. Caught a few on rigger sliders down about 20 and 30 feet as I remember. The hot rods were dipsies set down about 40 ft on a 3 setting. They had a combo of dodgers and flies and coho spin doctors and flies. A  5 color took a fish and a Berkeley shad bait took a fish. Funny that a red thin fish had no hits. The spin doctor was the orange crush pattern and the dodgers were red and clown. The clown was the best. The interesting thing for me on this trip was that we used green 4” flies instead of the usual 2” size used this time of the season. Worked very well. At the cleaning station the coho were full of 3 and 4 inch alewife so it looks like we “matched the hatch” pretty well. We went 15 for 18 on the trip. Giant thanks to Rick and Stan for another good adventure up on the lake.

My Searunner 190, "Four "D's" and a "C". Retirement money well spent.
