On other virus news, the MDNR cancelled the Steelhead egg take for this season at the Little Manistee weir. The weir gates have been removed and all fish will be passing upstream. There will be no Steelhead plants in spring 2021. The GSLI is advocating that next years spring Steelhead plants are replaced by increased King salmon plants using Steelhead equivalents. This means the 1 king can be planted to replace every 2.4 steelhead that would have been planted so there is no increase in predation on the forage base.

Cancelled all of the king net pens too. Of course this is the year that my port is getting a plant.
