South End Tournaments are meant to be a low stakes way of getting everyone together and having some fun fishing with a little competition thrown in. The tournaments last year were a nice success and I think everyone had a great time. We look forward to continuing this trend.

Starting this year, we will now have the captains meeting at Marina Shores - at the fish cleaning station. For everyone trailering (myself included), you can launch at Portage Marina and drive the boat across the ditch to Marina Shores. The fish cleaning station is right at the entrance and there is plenty of room to tie up the boats at that time in the morning. There are some great folks at Marina Shores and they have been extremely accommodating and helpful.

July 9th is also the start of Salmon-A-Rama....can we compete in both simultaneously?

I made a mistake on the date for that tournament somehow. It should be July 2nd and NOT July 9th. I have corrected the tournament page - glad you brought it up

Just a thought for our tournament on the 14. Maybe we should allow a lake trout or two to be weighed. Since there are not many silver fish near portage. Just a thought for a friendly competition. What's everyone's thoughts? Up coming wind forcast does not look promising to bring our silvers any closer.

we certainly discussed that over and over again. Ultimately decided focus on the fish we all prefer to catch. I also think it adds a nice level of uniqueness and of course brings its challenges.

We have been talking in great detail about lake trout. For this tournament we have decided to allow lake trout (2 max). This is partially due to lakers being highly accessible closer to shore still, as well as many of the silver fish being out in extreme depths.

Weigh top 5 fish - only 2 may be lake trout.

I am looking forward to this weekend meeting everyone. Just curious at what point does the event get pushed to Sunday. I am ok in 4s not saying it's enjoyable but just wondering at what height before it gets pushed off.
