heads up on hyd steering auto pilot systems
when you are converting to auto pilot
most bay star hyd steering systems come with plastic hose and fittings this stuff as far as i know is only rated for 1000 lbs (check the hose to confirm pressure rating of hose is printed on it)
all modern auto pilots pumps require 1500 lb pressure hoses the plastic variety can be used for return lines to eliminate any confusion best to use the higher pressure hose on the complete system
have seen a few customers make this mistake lately and experience complete steering system failure on the water luckily no one got hurt and minimal property damage.
