Yes.

Ok so I used this guy (keith) to take a look at my boat a few years ago when I had some goofy but minor things going on.

As you may or may not know, my boat has been unable to get on plane since day 2 of the Coho Classic.  Once we are planing or on plane for 30s or less she just takes a shit and drops 300-500 rpm, while sometimes backfireing.  very unsettling.  After spending a good chunk of $$ between myself and my mechanic we had gotten no where.  We replaced the fuel filters, fuel pump. fuel regulator, cap and rotor, ignition coil, and ignition module...............still no dice.

Then I remember Keith has this diagnostic tool that runs on a laptop, so we can look back at the data.  I texted him and he thankfully answered and was at my boat two hours later. Once we cranked her up to higher RPM we could see the ECM (computer) was taking a crap.  After soul searching I decided that was likely to be one thing causing the problem - the alternator.  Changed it and she runs perfect.  How about that......all that effort and $$ and it was the damn alternator throwing out dirty voltage causing the ECM to shit itself.

Weather its a baseline for your boat, or if you need a problem fixed I highly recommend calling Keith.    The data does not lie.

Report wise - since we could get on plane we fished 11-2 due north of the ditch in 80-100 FOW.  We caught a coho, steelie, and 6 lakers.  Not great but not bad for that time of the day.

Here are back to back screenshots of subsequent readings.  Typically these are about 5 readings per second.  These were a little over 2 seconds apart.  Told me I lost comms.  The engine running time also reset, which told me I lost the ECU.  Looking through the actual raw data really sold me, but this was the starting point.

Really glad to hear you have her fixed. How frustrating boats can be sometimes. Unfortunate to spend the extra $$, but ya got a lot of key new parts on her and hopefully the rest of the year everything runs great.
