One thing for sure gas is not what it used to be and goes bad way faster than ever before
OH YEA AND IT COSTS WAY TO MUCH "so buy a honda outboards and get the most out of every drop" sorry had to throw that in there !
What is a little known fact is that one quart of old fule (old fule= year old or more ) will make 4 gllons of new fuel stale or technically bad robbing octane rating and often setting up a chemical reaction called faze separation . After faze sepertion starts there is no saving the fuel thats in tank IT MUST BE PUMPED OUT AND TANK CLEANED . FOR BEST RESULTS DONT LET YOU FUEL GET THIS BAD
THINGS THAT CAN BE DONE TO PREVENT PROBLEMS
IF YOU NOT RUNNING AT LEAST TWO TOTAL TANKS OF GAS THRU YOU BOAT EACH YEAR
run it down low as you can go before adding fuel especially in the spring
dont take boat motors in for tune ups of for running problems with old gas (or old dead batterys)
use stabil only as directed never over stabalize fuel
never run a boat hard under heavy loads for long periods of time on last years gas
If fuel is questionable pump it out use it in some thing other than your boat. Posibly some thing that wont let you standed miles from shore
more honda motors new and used in stock than any where else in the chicago area @ Calumet Marine
