I am on call again this week so most likely will not go out on the big lake. I was wondering if anyone has any good lakes within like 90 minutes or so of Hammond? I know they say Maxi but was wondering if anyone has any smaller lakes that produce decent amount of keeper Crappie.

Thanks

My mom taught me to fish on Cedar Lake for Crappie - its where my passion of fishing truly began. Its a shadow of what it once was........but the days of bringing back buckets full and trying to clean them was all it took to get me hooked! Still some good ones to be had - just not what it used to be.

Heidecki has some monster crappie in it, but they’re really difficult to pattern. Willow Slough is more bluegill but has some crappie.
