No reports for the weekend? I took a trip out of New Buffalo Saturday night. Set lines @ 7 pm in 100 ft of water. Good temp break down 55 ft. I managed to take 3 lakers - all on Spin Dr and green fly on downrigger down 60 ft. Had one steelhead do a drive by while I was tangling with a Laker - popped the release on an orange Moonshine spoon down 45 ft and was in the air saying goodbye before I could even touch the rod! No bait at all - no flies either. The lakers were big and nasty and some fun to catch. Sad to see no reports after a summer weekend....
When I came back in the entire New Buffalo fire and police departments ( about 7 or 8 trucks and cars ) converged on the ramp area and blocked anyone from removing boats.I was ready to back in and they pulled in beside me and behind me and told me to move out of the way. They hauled a bunch of stuff to the police boat, and then about 15 minutes later they hauled everything back to their vehicles . Not sure what the issue was, but they were sure out in force. They were all standing around talking after the fact, and I finally had to ask them to move their vehicles so I could retrieve my boat.

Thank you for the report. Crazy about the ramp! I think lack of reports were because of the tournaments this weekend. The 2nd leg in the Hoosier Coho Club Series that allows you to leave from EC to New Buffalo, and Tackle Haven had their 2nd tournament in St Joe. Also lack of reports because of the amount of steel in close has been pretty good lately.

The fire trucks Saturday were for a boat that was smoking. I heard it ended up being oil smoking and not a fire.
They did respond to a boat that ended up being fully engulfed on Tuesday. Thankfully everyone was okay. I took a picture from the dunes across from public launch.

A friend took the close up from the river.
