Headed out of Portage at 5:30 Friday am. Set up north of Burns Harbor plant in 55 ft. Trolled north to 75ft. Marked a few. No bait on the chart. Got skunked. I saw two other boats in the vicinity. Didn't see much action on either of their boats either. With the recent north winds, I probably should have set up deeper and trolled even further out. No matter... the lake was beautiful. A great day to be out.

Sure beats working! I would offer a guess that at this point fishing in Indiana waters is probably not going to produce much. Heading straight north or northeast into Illinois or Michigan waters into the triple digits depths is where we need to be. At least where we will be on Sunday unless I hear different from any reports Saturday!

Looking at the buoys its warm till the end of the temp chain that ends at 56ft. I'd say 80 to 110 you could prob find some fish bottom 3rd of the column.

Agreed. Those north winds brought the warm water in for sure.
Boatless!
