It would be my guess that it sucks offshore unless you go really far. I could be wrong as I have not been out lately, but thats my guess. Others will hopefully chime in with their experience. There is not many Kings coming in, but they are there and being caught here and there. If I do go out again this year (work, wife, and weather depending) it will be nearshore.

I haven’t been out of New Buffalo for over a month but the last couple years silver fish were pretty hard to come by once you got a week or two into August. Can usually catch a few Lakers still if that interests you.
Speaking for offshore. I don’t believe the Galien river receives any salmon plants so any silver in close would be rare.

Crazy to think about but I've only gone out once since August 1st and got blown off the lake. I haven't heard much silver at all. August - early sept used to be prime time too. Hopefully in a couple yrs we can get some fall run.

There is no fall run anymore Greg. Very few silver fish caught in August. It's been this way for years. Stockings are down and survival rate is poor.. Brian Breidert, our retired veteran DNR biologist says the fall king run is a thing of the past. "SouthWind"
