Took my wonderful wife and son out Saturday afternoon for a short trip in front of burns ditch and ended up with my wife getting her first king (confused it for a big coho, I've got to get better at fish ID) and her first laker.

The king came as the wife was letting out a 3 color with a jointed rapala and she asked for a board. Saw the rod tip bouncing away and told her she had one on! The laker was on a flatlined thin fish, both in 20 fow.
Sunday went out with dirty and as mentioned in another post we were one steelhead from joining the grand slam club. I was optimistic since the hardest one to find, brown trout, was our 2nd fish of the day. Most of the fish we caught this day came on jointed rapalas and a slim spoon on the rigger down deeper. All the fish came pretty much in front of the ditch anywhere from 20 to 30 fow and the bite was pretty quick in the morning then became a steady pick the rest of the day.

Great job. It's tough to fish this time of year. But really great when it goes right.
