Hello.  I recently had a wire diver rod break.  Wondering if there are any good rod builders or repairers in the area.  TYIA

What happened to the rod? If it’s a busted or missing guide or an issue with the reel seat or handle it’s probably an easy fix. If you broke the actual rod that’s another story. There’s not many applications that put a rod blank under a heavier sustained load than divers.

The rod snapped when popping the dipsy.

I am no rod expert but I am thinking you are looking at just getting a new rod.

I’d call the manufacturer. Tell them what happened. It was obviously a wire specific rod, should be able to handle the task. Only way it breaks there and is your fault is if someone grabbed it way up the blank trying to get some leverage or if you hit it on on dock piling or rested on the side of the boat fighting a fish. Breaking at a guide foot like that suggests it was wrapped too tight or they nicked the blank cutting the thread. Definitely wouldn’t try to repair that and use it though.
