I've been catching a few small walleye from shore at night this year and recently learned that the lake is stocked periodically.  I'm well versed in crappie fishing, but kind of starting from scratch with walleye.

Does anyone have any advice for these lakes specifically?  I know I've had to modify my crappie tactics quite a bit given the gin clear water and amount of recreational traffic.

Thanks in advance!

I live right near both and have wanted to try my hand at walleye fishing.  I'd be interested and fishing with you to learn as well! I believe they have been stocking walleye for the last few years.

Ogrecharger,

Lately (last couple years) I've been catching an occasional walleye -22" & 23" on the weedline (15') by trolling crankbaits. This was in the middle of the day while trolling for pike. That said, because of the water clarity on these lakes, I'd love to fish it at night. However,  the launch at Stone is not accessible after 8PM.  But If I did fish it at night I'd throw shallow running baits over the weeds near deep water. During the day, I'd try some artificials, but would not be caught without crawlers if I was focused solely on walleye. The weeds/weedline is the key on Pine & Stone.

I also fish both Pine and occasionally Stone, for crappie too, but have trouble with consistent contact & numbers . I use a small tube jigs over the tops and through the weeds out to the weedline, mainly finding them around weeds at 13' with the trolling motor, but only get a couple.
