  Sorry for the late report- I have allot going on right now and haven't been on the site much. After reading BNs report I realized.Ihave yet to put mine up- looks like we were up there at about the same time. Anyways here it is.....I arrived at Erie on Thursday afternoon. Decided to run the ABC can line to see what's was happening out there. We found allot of fish , the two of us caught over 20 fish in a couple hours but only 5 made the box. The rest were shorts and farm animals.
Friday looked good weather wise so we set out north of Kelly's. That fishing proved to be outstanding.......Jet 40s back 95 running spoons punched a quick 2 man ticket. Had some clown run through my spread and pretty close to hitting us...... he was the give way vehicle..... two guys aboard- never looked forward even after the yelling......I lost two boards, jets and spoons......After I pulled everything I went back looking to see if he had my boards and for a little conversation.....I must say I must be maturing......20 years ago I probably would have boarded him and gave him a whipping after his statement...... after I explained he was the give way vehicle and he needs to actually look where he is going his response was that since I have a "fancy" boat I should be the one doing all looking out for both of us. Now that made my blood boil...... but after some choice words I just left him with my hope he doesn't cause an accident out there.
Saturday was a blow day...... so we just chilled and left on Sunday morning.
Overall a good trip minus the on water close call.......I won't be back until September for some perch action with the wife....... maybe in a new boat( fingers crossed)

That's a new one, "the guy with the snazziest boat has to give way to more common looking boats."  Actually, I don't use the "rules of the road" to decide if I should maintain course or swerve out of the way. I just swerve out of the way. I've often noticed guys with only two or three people in the boat often pay more attention to what's going on in the stern than what's ahead. That's where the fun stuff happens!  If you see a boat with a troller down as an autopilot, that's a clue. Used to be a lot easier when everyone had a marine radio and it was easy to send an alert. I just watch ahead and tell my passengers to watch as well. Then I just angle 20 or 30 degrees so we don't tangle. Makes me smile when I skirt behind some guy and hook a fish that he missed.
